Dayton Children’s
CHA CHA, the Women’s Board’s biennial fundraiser, was developed in the mid-1960’s, as the continually growing Women’s Board evolved into what it is today. The Women’s Board has raised nearly $2.5 million for Dayton Children’s since 1964. Recently, its 36 members provided funding to renovate the Newborn Intensive Care Unit and the Wallace Critical Complex and purchased two new pediatric transport units. In 2009 the Women’s Board completed a $250,000 pledge to support the Soin Pediatric Trauma and Emergency Center renovation and expansion project. In addition to raising funds for the hospital, the Women’s Board administers the HELP Fund, an ongoing program that supports various projects at the hospital. The Women’s Board hosts Careers in Health Care seminars for high school students annually and also volunteers in the Schear Activity Center.
